The L.A. City Section announced early Tuesday that Narbonne’s girls basketball team has been granted an appeal regarding its removal from the L.A. City Section Open Division Playoffs.
Narbonne was forced to forfeit its semifinal win over View Park last weekend, and was removed from this weekend’s City final, and any CIF State playoff contention, for wearing uniforms with pink numbers and lettering against View Park, to support breast cancer awareness.
According to City Section bylaws, teams may wear only school colors, and must apply for a waiver if choosing to wear any other color.
The hearing will take place today at an undisclosed location before a three-member panel of executive committee members from the Section of Board Managers.
