Mira Costa and Carson’s girls basketball teams each won Friday to set up an all-South Bay showdown in the South East Tournament at Bell High.
Allie Navarette scored 18 points with six rebounds to lead the way for Mira Costa in a 62-34 win over View Park in one semifinal.
In the other semifinal, Tehya Peters had 14 points and made the two go-ahead free throws with 20 seconds left to lead Carson to a 50-48 win over El Segundo.
Alize Niko added 11 points for Carson (7-2). Ani Finau had 16 points and 10 rebounds for El Segundo (5-2). Jordan Swanier had 12 and Paige Endo added 11.
Haley Tojo added seven points and seven rebounds for Mira Costa (5-2), which faces Carson today at 5:30 p.m. in the final.
